The Friends of DeBoville Slough, working with the City of Coquitlam, will be conducting an invasive plant removal work party. We are working to control Japanese knotweed, a deciduous rhizome plant from mid elevation, volcanic soils in Japan. Where sturdy footwear and dress for the weather, we go rain or shine. If it is sunny, don’t forget the sunscreen. We will meet at the kiosk on the north side of the slough.
Join the Friends of DeBoville slough for a relaxed nature walk out the north side of the DeBoville Slough. We’ll see migrating and nesting birds, check out any plants and maybe see a mammal or amphibian along the way. It is about 4.5 kilometres return from the start of the slough to the Pitt River and back.
