What a hot day! Thanks volunteers.

Thanks to all the volunteers who braved the hot weather to cut Japanese knotweed. With your help we managed to tackle all the areas needing control. This is an incredible achievement. The control of Japanese knotweed is very labour intensive but we have dedicated team of volunteers. With the help of the City of Coquitlam we are making a difference.

This is what the south side dike near the entrance of the slough looked like in 2005

and this is what it looks like today.

Total collected

We managed to collect a third of a bag, first cutting of the year.

Today there were twelve volunteers and two City of Coquitlam workers and a truck. Thanks to the City of Coquitlam for disposing of the knotweed.
