All was quite at DeBoville Slough. The ride out to the mouth of the slough was hot, even though it was morning. These are the Dog Days of Summer. Still there was some surprises, like when I stopped opposite the Purple Martin boxes just past the mouth to the slough on the Pitt River, I turned around and there was a bald eagle sitting in a trees. Unfortunately I only had my cell phone with me. The tide was out and there were some interesting logs on the Purple Martim beach. Along the way back I noticed that the water weeds looked lazy in the slow moving water of DeBoville Slough.
